This is a timing company dedicated to organize and provide timing solutions for sport competitions via RFID chips installed in every competitor number. They needed a solution not only to display the results and make it possible to search on them but also to manage the athletes and keep tracking of their participations, without the need to enter their information for every event.
So I came up with using WordPress as a core solver, mostly to manage users and the events. Since the use os custom post types I could manage every event with their own information, classify and display them easily with the use of specific templates. The user level was easily handled with the plugin Members by Justin Tadlock.
After all that, then came the expansion. There were added several plugins made by me until today: a championship manager, that could assign points to the athletes in case they participated on a championship event; the live timing display within the website, that was possible reading a MyLaps webservice; the manager of payments for the CONSUR BIKE program; and a lot of tweaks applied to the product when they needed a new feature.
A credit card payment gateway was also implemented, in collaboration with a local credit card issuer called Bancard, accepting all the common brands for every event. This definitely proved a differential for Itapúa Timing from its competitors.
The design is pretty plain and minimalistic. What deserves more attention are definitely the events. So the main slider at the beginning display the future events that weren't held yet, so people can subscribe to them.
